This summer, we embark on a unique 9-day journey along the River Medway—from source to sea—offering a profound opportunity to listen, honour, and care for the River in a new way. Beginning on 19th July at Turners Hill and concluding on 27th July at the Isle of Grain or Allhallows, this pilgrimage is a call to deepen our relationship with the River and our role as its guardians.

Bringing together three streams of action—Practical, Legal, and Sacred, we aim to co-create an experience that fosters meaningful, long-lasting change—not just for the River Medway but for our entire community.

Our diverse programme will include: Citizen science to monitor water quality; Litter picks & invasive species removal; Environmental workshops promoting river-friendly practice; Advocacy for the Rights of River; Art & creativity workshop; History & folklore storytelling; Nature connection & guided meditations; Water ceremonies to honour the River.

To bring this vision to life, we need to raise essential funds for:

  • A pilgrimage coordinator & communications coordinator
  • Outreach materials
  • A photographer & videographer
  • Workshop facilitators
  • A transport vehicle for bags
  • Sponsorship for food
  • Supplies such as first-aid kits, art materials, and river testing kits
  • Insurance & first aid support

This fundraiser is a crucial step in making the pilgrimage a reality—help us create an unforgettable journey that honours and protects the River Medway for generations to come.
